Wow – Prescott is Beautiful This Time of Year!!

Happy Valentines Day!

Hello February!!! Happy Valentine’s day to everyone! Love is in the air and what beautiful clean air we have in Prescott Arizona! What a great winter we are having so far! The weather has been so gorgeous. It is perfect house hunting weather! I love it when I am at the BloomTree office on the square and I look out and see everyone enjoying  ‘One of the Coolest Downtowns in North America,’ according to Expedia. (Read the article on my website “  Prescott is among Expedia’s ‘places to see’ in 2018”)  I always feel so blessed to live here. We have it all, from shopping to great food.Speaking of great food, make sure you support our local restaurants when making your Valentine’s Day reservations. We have some of the best dining options right in the courthouse square. And while you are there stop by the BloomTree office and ask for Theresa deSoto. Be my valentine and I will be your realtor!
“Away in a meadow all covered with snow
the little old groundhog looks for his shadow
the clouds in the sky determine our fate
if winter will leave us all early or late.”

February Fun Facts …

Flower: Violet
Birthstone:  Amethyst

About The February CalendarThe Roman month Februarius was named after the Latin term februum, which means purification, via the purification ritual Februa held on February 15 (full moon) in the old lunar Roman calendar. January and February were the last two months to be added to the Roman calendar, since the Romans originally considered winter a month less period. The original 10 month, 304-day Roman calendar didn’t work for long because it didn’t align with the seasons. King Numa Pompilius reformed the calendar around 700 BC by adding the months of January (Ianuarius) and February (Februarius) to the original 10 months, which increased the year’s length to 354 or 355 days. After a few hundred years, the 365 day Julian calendar was introduced by Julius Caesar in 45 BC and replaced the Roman calendar.

February Is SuperBowl Month!

Before 2002, Super Bowl Sunday was held the last Sunday in January, but since 2002 it is more commonly held the first Sunday of February
