October in Prescott is Beautiful!

October is here! Can you believe the year is 83.3 % over! And my husband is a year older this month! Happy Birthday Andy!

Fall is in the air and it is such a beautiful time of year. One of the things I love about the Prescott area is that we get the four seasons (the weather, not the singing group!) so we get to see the trees change colors and leaves fall to the ground. The air has that crisp autumn feel to it.

Prescott is one of cities with the least air pollution in the Continental United States, and is often voted one of the ten best small towns in America. The weather in October is a great for all our wonderful outdoor activities. Another thing that I love about October is that it is pumpkin season. Wonderful magnificent delicious pumpkin! Pumpkin bread, pumpkin pie, pumpkin latte, everything pumpkin! So when you come by the square to enjoy all the activities and the great shopping, be sure to stop and enjoy all the good food. Not only do we have wonderful restaurants but you may even come across one of the food carts or trucks that will be popping up around town now. And when you are downtown, be sure to stop by the BloomTree office and ask for Theresa deSoto your friendly hometown realtor. I would love to show what is on the market and help you find your dream home. I am here to help with all your real estate needs whether finding your dream home, listing your current home..…or both!!!

  • A fun fact about October cites that the winter is hard if the deer have a grey coat in this month.
  • October ends on the same day of the week as February every year.
  • Crows are petty animals that can remember your face — and hold a grudge against you if you wronged them.
  • A full day on Saturn is 10 Earth hours, but a year lasts more than 29 Earth years.
  • It’s possible to use sign language with an accent. “If you grow up using one sign language and then learn a different sign language, you’ll sign with an accent.”
  • Poisonous frogs aren’t naturally poisonous — their poison comes from their diet.
  • Continents shift at the same rate that fingernails grow.
  • Laughing while being tickled is actually a panic response from your body.
  • Young armadillos are called armadiglets.
  • Octopuses’ legs have a mind of their own.
  • “Six Flags theme park gets its name from the six flags (or countries) that have occupied Texas: Spain, France, Mexico, the Republic of Texas, the Confederacy, and the United States. The original theme park, Six Flags over Texas, is located in Arlington, Texas.”
  • “Australia has the largest feral camel population on Earth. This means that Saudi Arabia has had to import its camels from Australia!”
  • “The birthday paradox says that you only need 23 people in a group for there to be a 50% chance of two having the same birthday.
